but how stupid do you consider us users to be? Right now it is pretty annoying 
to enter the setup menu each time I change the genre of music I listen to.

Just read out the genre field of the mp3-tag and offer these as checkboxes in 
the xfade dialog plus one general option for titles without the genre being 
defined. I think, anybody who uses Linux is clever enough to figure out how 
that works.

Correct me, if I am wrong: but aren't fancy feature like this not the supposed 
USP of Amarok?
