Make sure you've build kdelibs and kdebase with debug symbols first (or install \
kdelibs-dbg and kdebase-dbg from the (K)Ubuntu repository first).

Then restart KDE and wait until the problem happens. Run the GNU Debugger, attach it \
to the kded process:

$ gdb kded `pidof kded`

Then send a signal to the kded process:

$ kill -SEGV `pidof kded`

From gdb you can create a backtrace now, by entering 'bt' in the gdb shell:

(gdb) bt
