Summary: Input/Result field too smal when logic button are
visible
Product: kcalc
Version: unspecified
Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kniederk mi uni-koeln de
ReportedBy: sngeorgaras otenet gr
Version: 2.0.6 (using KDE 3.5.6 "release 77.1" , openSUSE )
Compiler: Target: x86_64-suse-linux
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.20.2-34-default
When the logic functions buttons are visible, the input/result field gets really \
small (depending on the strings used by the l10n team), and because the window of the \
program is not adjustable, the user gets the impression that his/her input will not \
"fit" and will not be able to insert the desired data. We (at the greek l10n team) \
have had reports of this situation, and have reduced the length of the hex, dec, bin \
etc. fields, but that did not do much of a change.
Currently, the behaviour of the main window is to expand as the user inputs data, but \
the user has no way of knowing until he tries it.
I think that the best way to deal with it, is to allow the user to adjust the \
horizontal size of the window, or at least use a large minimum width value for the \
input/result field.
