Summary: code completion is too slow
Product: kdevelop
Version: 3.4.0
Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kdevelop-bugs kdevelop org
ReportedBy: vkrevs yahoo com
Version: 3.4.0 (using KDE 3.5.6 "release 19.1" , openSUSE )
Compiler: Target: x86_64-suse-linux
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.18.2-34-default
I've got a project with ~8000 C/C++ files. In "Project Options"->"C++ Support", \
"Automatic code completion" is checked and set to 450msec, "Do Complete Member Type \
Evaluation" is checked. Most of the time, code completion takes between 3 to 5 \
seconds to propose a guess and while the completion list is built, the UI is \
completely frozen. This is not very usable, to put it mildly, considering that my \
desktop has got 3.2 Ghz P4 and 2Gb RAM.
