yes the tree builds, installs and runs correctly.

"my project" is the gimp, available on anon cvs:  cvs -z3 -d :pserver:anonymous \
anoncvs gnome org:/cvs/gnome 

since it's quite a complex tree it may be best to check out from cvs, if you'd prefer \
I can attach some files here.

I'll attach the top level Makefile.am just to whet your appetite. ;)
