After more testing, this issue appears to be also related to freezes in Quanta which \
cause the drag operation to take longer to timeout than normal.  I have literally \
watched a file URL appear in an edited file when my hands were no longer even on the \
mouse.  Not sure if it is just general system slowdown or whether Quanta is causing \
something in KDE to block until it is does thus creating the bug.

The highlighter freeze bug when switching between files (BUG# 117994) can cause this \
to happen for example.
