It still is reproducable with KDE 3.5.5 - it just depends on where you define the \
shortcuts. When I define shortcuts via kcontrol they are written into \
~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals and prevents umlauts from being typed into konqueror's \
address bar. But when I define konqueror-only shortcuts through konqueror settings it \
is written into ~/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/konqueror.rc and I can type umlauts. \
Thanks for the hint.

So I can use own shortcuts for konqueror only but I mustn't define them with \
kcontrol. But as soon as I define some whatsoever shortcut in kcontrol and thus \
create a [Shortcuts] section in kdeglobals konqueror doesn't accept umlauts anymore. \
So this alas is not solved.
