Problem 1: What can KUser do about it? The file permission dialog has ACL setting \
capability, if you enabled ACLs on your filesystem(s). If you don't see that, that's \
another story...
Problem 2: The problem is that the groups can be distro specific, and also the groups \
are _not_ for allowing user roles (there are some exception, e.g. the group disc), \
but these are user accounts for the same-named daemons. You mentioned "hal", which is \
for running the HAL Daemon to not run as root. You can hide these users/groups with \
the "show/hide system users/groups" checkbox.
