This bug happened to me two weeks before. I could not start up kmail. The problem was \
solved when I removed the index files. Few days latter it showed up that I had a hard \
drive problem, which caused the corruption of the index (and not only the index) \
files.  In my opinion KMail should be able to start up even if the index files are \
corrupt, it should report the problem and ignore the corrupt data, when it is \
possible.
