Summary: KMix should choose default master channel more
                    intelligent
           Product: kmix
           Version: 2.6
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: KMix Panel Docking
        AssignedTo: esken kde org
        ReportedBy: kde-contrib msquadrat de

Version: 2.6 (using KDE 3.5.5, Gentoo)
Compiler: Target: i686-pc-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.18-gentoo-r1-b5964t3

This is a follow-up to bug 47110 and bug 55078. Like in the first bug I switched to \
the USB sound device and suddenly had the bass channel in the popup.

I think the selection of the default master channel can be a bit more intelligent. \
It should be enough if there was a hard-coded list of possible master channels which \
are tried one-after-another and if all fail, the first channel is used. I guess a \
good list might be "Master, Master Mono, Front, PCM".

Hmmm... afterwards it could go on and instead of just selecting the first channel, it \
filters out unlikely channels, like "Bass, Treble, Mic, Video, Phone, 3D Control*"

Additonal bug: The Select Master Channel item is only available via the tray icon \
context menu and not in the KMix main window. I actually had to search Bugzilla \
before I found it.
