I'm not at home at the moment but I believe I'm using cmake 2.4.1.  Changing \
trunk/KDE/kdegraphics/kolourpaint/CMakeLists.txt (whitespace change is sufficient \
from memory; but you can add a source file if that doesn't work), forces the next \
"make" to rebuild everything from scratch (i.e. it does recompile some .cpp's) even \
though it doesn't have to.
