------- Additional Comments From lionel_debroux yahoo fr 2006-07-29 09:30 -------
The date appears messed up in root KDirstat as well...
I therefore thought it might be a problem with my configuration files, so I started \
"grepping" several strings in the /root/kde folder. "MM" turns an interesting match:
share/config/kdeglobals:163:TimeFormat=%H:MM:%S

Changing this to %H:%M:%S, as it is in the corresponding file of the non-root user on \
the machine, fixes the problem, obviously.

So this is not a bug in Konqueror, this is a misconfiguration on my side. I don't run \
many programs as root on my machine, so I had not seen the problem in other KDE \
applications. That said, although I may have edited the property through kcontrol, I \
don't remember editing the configuration file by hand (much less modifying this \
particular string)...

"%" and "M" are adjacent on a French keyboard layout (AZERTY), and both require being \
in CAPS LOCK mode or using SHIFT. It might just be a typo somewhere, in the code of \
at least one version of KDE, or of its Debian unstable packaging. If its \
configuration files were deleted, KDE can re-create them.

Sorry. I'll investigate a bit more on this on my side, for example by logging onto a \
third user on my machine, that does not currently have a ~/.kde directory.
