I opened kcontrol and each kde service module had the status "Running".
Deactivating it and pressing "stop" changed the status to "Not running".

Could it be that status "Running" is misleading?

After disabling Kat (and all other services) kde-apps bahave much better.

But some strange messages still appear and interfere with my work in
konsole:
---
Cannot open client
akode: Guessed format: xiph
KNotify::playTimeout
KNotify::playTimeout
---
and
---
ICE default IO error handler doing an exit(), pid = 8799, errno = 0
---

Regards,
  Matthias
