Despite that this bug was filed a year ago, I just ran into it today.  Simply loading \
any image into the "File name:" field and hitting apply causes an immediate crash for \
me. I'm using the Ubuntu Dapper beta packages, which is KPM 1.1.2
It happens every time, consistently.   Open KPM with a new file, add a height field \
object, load a picture, hit apply, explode.
