OK. This is very odd.
After installing, and then deleting the font, when you get the font exists but 0 \
bytes dialog, what is the output of:
fc-list | grep -i arial
does it list a font? It could be that fontconfig still thinks the font exists. If you \
run "kcmshell fonts" is the font still visible?
Which version of fontconfig are you using? Does "fc-cache -v" produce any errors?
As for the debug output, can you try using "kdebugdialog --fullmode", Select \
Information, Output to "File", and enter a filename.
After the above, can you try also disabling "Configure fonts for legacy X \
application".
