Summary: Data loss when low on disk space
           Product: kile
           Version: 1.9
          Platform: Gentoo Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: Jeroen.Wijnhout kdemail net
        ReportedBy: magnusj it uu se

Version: 1.9 (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

I'm on a laptop with a quite small harddrive. Often when I compile a lot of stuff \
(I'm on Gentoo) I run out of disk space. If I have Kile running when this happens and \
it tries to do autosave, it will fail and give me an error message. However when this \
happens it has already tried to write to the file, resulting in a file of size 0 on \
disk. If I, for some reason, exit Kile when this has happend, I will lose the open \
documents.

A simple solution would be to do autosaves to a different file name, e.g. \
mydocument.autosave.tex.

I've only been bitten by this once, since I usually make sure I've got free disk \
space before I logout, and I only lost a few lines since I could restore from \
backups.
