Smart playlists are great. You can easily create a smart playlist containing the top \
50 tracks by a certain artist. However, sometimes you just want to create a smart \
playlist really fast and add it to the playlist.
How about a "Temporary Smart Playlist"? That is simply a smart playlist that doesn't \
get saved, it is only used once. You could add a shortcut key, a toolbar item or \
select it from the menu bar - when you do, a window similar to the "Create Smart \
Playlist" window appear. You type your criteria and then click "Append to Playlist" \
(or something like that) and "poff", your tracks are added!
Yeah, it's similar to the smart playlists, but by using a shortcut key/toolbar item, \
you don't have to click on "Playlists", right click "Smart Playlists", click "New \
Smart Playlist...", type the conditions and click "OK", and finally drag the smart \
playlist to the playlist. No, if you just suddenly want to listen to the most \
listened tracks by Coldplay, you should be able to do this fast and with less mouse \
clicks. If you want to save the temporary smart playlist as a smart playlist, there \
should be an option to do this.
What do you think? As far as I know, this shouldn't be too hard to implant - smart \
playlists already exist, you just have to change it a little bit (Append to \
Playlist-button instead of a button to "save" the playlist).
