Thank you Jens Dagerbo for your prompt response!

I upgraded from release version 3.3.1

I looked into bug 88091.  The symptoms are not the same - DCOP does not freeze up on \
me, nor does konqueror or any other program.  Just kdevelop.

However, I went and commented out the end of this line:
languages/cpp/backgroundparser.cpp
   398          }
   399
   400          kdDebug( 9007 ) << "!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BG PARSER DESTROYED \

I rebuilt and reinstalled kdevelop (just rebuilding kdevelop wasn't enough to make \
the change, I guess becuase kdevelop uses plugins from the install directory and the \
source directory).   Sure enough, that fixed it!  Thanks!
