28MB is large enough to crash kmail for me...
I get a crash without a backtrace on KDE 3.5.0/KMail 1.9.1/Kontact 1.2 on FC4 \
(kde-redhat package) when trying to read an e-mail with a large patch included in the \
body. The symptoms seem that kmail eats CPU and RAM until swap is depleted, then it \
crashes without a crash dialog.

BTW, it seems bug# 107649 could be marked as a duplicate of this one.
