Must be some SUSE patch to kdelibs, because it works fine here.

My suggestion: get the latest kdelibs sources (tarball, or using svn from branches/KDE/3.5/kdelibs)
and compile them with --enable-debug, then install them. Either the bug is still
there and then the backtrace and debug output will tell us where, or the bug
will be fixed by doing that, and that's good too...
