Summary: Wish: sidebar plugin similar to universalkopete
           Product: konqueror
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Gentoo Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: sidebar
        AssignedTo: jowenn kde org
        ReportedBy: nathan toonetown com

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

I have loved using UniversalKopete (http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=10327) to automatically \
hide my kopete window, and have it quickly available. However, the code was unmaintained, and is no \
longer working correctly with the 3.5 release of KDE.

So I decided that I could implement one a lot simpler and a lot better.

I think it would be great to add something like this to KDE - probably within \
kdeaddons/konq-plugins/sidebar...others may find it useful (it's a whole lot more useful to me than the \
del.ico.us plugin is...)

The plugin I wrote actually took the del.ico.us code as a base, and I worked from there. I don't have a \
very sophisticated IDE (vi) so it might not match accepted coding styles, and the makefiles may need to \
be redone.

This plugin differs from the universalkopete plugin in that it uses DCOP to do the embedding instead of a \
hackish parsing of xwininfo (which is why I think it has broken recently - I already fixed in once...I \
thought I'd just get it fixed once and for all)

I hope this patch is useful to you! It's my chance to "give back"
