Thanks for your comments.
I use 0 gaps because I burn copies of live concerts I download - so the music 
and applause and the next song should all flow together without gaps. And 
yes, I chose dao manually as I thought this was right...
So, should I use raw mode rather than dao? I'll experiment and let you know
