Summary: please remove image conversion from default service
                    menus
           Product: konqueror
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: imagerotation
        AssignedTo: pfeiffer kde org
        ReportedBy: akohlsmith-kde mixdown ca

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.92)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources

As the title suggests (and I've seen many discussions on this very problem) the \
service menus are far too cluttered for "normal" users.

I am asking specifically that the imageconversion service menu be removed from the \
DEFAULT install of 3.5 to try and clean up this problem. I have been using KDE for \
over 5 years now and I don't think I have ever used the image conversion services \
ONCE. And only a handful of times in an actual image application. Image rotation I \
use all the time, and I'd like to humbly request that picwiz be added to the default \
KDE install and have the image resizing incorporated into the images service menu, \
since image resizing is used so much more often.

It is my humble opinion that service menus should be for frequently used items, not \
for more or less any feature an application may add. Yes, some kind of easy service \
menu manipulation is required, but more importantly, the default service menu should \
be short and simple and aimed at the 80% of users, not the 20% who may use one or two \
esoteric features.

(actually that's a rather neat idea -- incorporating statistics-gathering into the \
service menus and application menus to see which application features get hit the \
most across all KDE installations and all applications!)
