           Summary: egroupware resource makes knotes hang
           Product: knotes
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Debian testing
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: brade kde org
        ReportedBy: peter_e gmx net

Version: 3.5 (using KDE KDE 3.4.1)
Installed from:    Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS:                Linux

When knotes has an egroupware resource configured, it seems to hang during startup. \
When starting it from the console, it looks like this:

$ knotes
knotes: WARNING: Cannot execute call to system.login: empty server URL
[hangs there]

After removing the egroupware resource from .kde/share/config/kresources/notes/stdrc, \
it starts up happily again. The resource looked like this:

[Resource_HO757jB2VQ]
ResourceIdentifier=HO757jB2VQ
ResourceIsActive=true
ResourceIsReadOnly=false
ResourceName=eGroupware
ResourceType=xmlrpc
XmlRpcDomain=default
XmlRpcPassword=something
XmlRpcUrl=https://www.somewhere.com/egroupware/xmlrpc.php
XmlRpcUser=username

I straced the two knotes processes that were created. The first was stuck in

read(3,

and the second was in a tight loop that looked like this:

select(9, [3 4 5 6 8], [], [], {0, 0})  = 0 (Timeout)
nanosleep({0, 100000}, NULL)            = 0
ioctl(4, FIONREAD, [0])                 = 0
select(9, [3 4 5 6 8], [], [], {0, 0})  = 0 (Timeout)
nanosleep({0, 100000}, NULL)            = 0
ioctl(4, FIONREAD, [0])                 = 0
etc.
