1) I fully agree with Thiago.
2) I doubt about the portability of the proposed solution.
3) Forcing using cdrecord is a nasty solution which could easily lead to
instabilities IMHO.

Then, I close this as a WONTFIX. Moreover if you're really annoyed by this,
you should try to install something like supermount or submount (even if I
dislike this approach personally) because that's exactly where this kind
of "issues" should be "fixed".
