You're right. But there have been so many fixes in KMail 1.8 that it's worth 
upgrading nevertheless.

BTW, I've been using dIMAP for about two years now. I've never had a message 
loss (except when I deleted myself a folder by accident  - well, we had a 
backup).
The main problem is to reproduce such a situation, the same goes for the 
"deleting many messages crashes KMail" problem...
