I submitted a patch previously which changed the View::areaUnderGraph
function so that it does calculate the area (by taking the absolute
value of each strip), not the integral (see lines 1721, 1710).

At the moment the text says "The integral in the interval ... is ..."
and then gives the value for the area!

I think the area calculation could use some improvement, as it
currently can only work on the area which is currently being viewed,
and the results are not that accurate.

area calculations are being done in the View class, which is supposed
to be responsible for drawing the graph.  I realise that the View
class has to draw the shaded area, but I suggest that is made a
separate task from the actual calculation.
