Hi Jürgen,
this is indeed problem with KDevelop. When I run the same example in gdb, using the \
"display" command to show variable, it shows the global value even after entering the \
function. The problem is that KDevelop does not use the "display" command, but \
instead reevaluates "displayed" expression on each step. So, if the scope changes, \
the meaning of "var1" becomes different.

It should be noted that there are UI issue in fixing this -- if you see two "var1" in \
variables widget, but they refer to different "var1", isn't this confusing?
