Again, Gentoo 2005.0 and V6V (i915+Radeon X600).
The problem could be related to the "Asus Laptop ACPI extras". Infact almost all
the mentioned distributions activate this module that says:

Asus Laptop ACPI Extras version 0.29
Error calling BSTS
V6V model detected, unsupported, trying default values, supply the developers with your DSDT

I've already alerted them with my V6V DSDT.
If I disable the Asus extras I don't get that OSD anymore.
