I did some more tests. It did not matter what I did, I closed all other 
files, I closed the other Kate window. It was still the same thing.

The situation changed after I renamed 'metainfos' from the user's 
settungs. It worked afterward.

Copying 'metainfos' back brings Kate back into the endless loop.

Should I send you the file 'metainfos' or do you have ideas what else I 
could test?
