The bug is only reproceable, I think, with files not in the / partition.
Trying to trash anything from /etc wrks fine for me too.

Have a look:
BlackSpark:/storage# mount | grep hda3
/dev/hda3 on /storage type reiserfs (rw)
BlackSpark:/storage# ls -la | grep .Trash
drwx------ 4 ivan ivan 96 Mar 17 20:50 .Trash-1000
BlackSpark:/storage# mkdir useless
BlackSpark:/storage# touch useless/foobar
Then I go to konqueror (as user "ivan", uid 1000) and try to
trash /storage/useless.
Also:
BlackSpark:~# mount | grep home
/dev/hda2 on /home type reiserfs (rw)
BlackSpark:~# touch /home/foobar
Trashing the empty file /home/foobar also throws an ugly error message:
"Access denied to /home/ivan/.local/share/Trash/files/foobar"
However, it works fine (displays correct error dialog) when trashing files
on /etc, or anywhere within the / mount point.
Please try to reproduce it again, maybe we all missed this point.
