To me, a backup directory would *definitely* be preferrable to the current situation, \
IMHO.
Also, there would be no need for a complete hierarchy in that backup dir, it would be \
far enough to putt all backup files in a flat way right into it. If a file of the \
same name already exists, overwrite it. It should be that simple (I mean, there \
should be an option for backups to be that simple).
