Summary: Wishes to assist time tracking and simple billing
Product: korganizer
Version: unspecified
Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: reinhold kainhofer com
ReportedBy: peter lombardo info
Version: 1.0.2 (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
To summarize:
* export events by category
* optional export fields (e.g. duration)
I use Korganizer to track my hours worked for various clients. I export this to a 'Web Page' but \
currently have to reformat and calculate the duration and monetary total by my hourly rate.
I know that Korganizer is not a billing program but by implementing at least the two bullets above would \
greatly ease my time tracking and reporting.
The larger solution that I would like to see is an additional tab in the 'Edit Event' dialog that allows \
the user to enter additional information regarding billable time such as:
- specify the rate at which to charge for this event
- specify a flat fee for this event
- a flag that indicates an event as billable or not billable
- a flag that marks this event as exported/billed
With the above, I can then just look at an event on my calendar and see the value automatically.
At least the basic framework of the above functionality will allow korganizer to integrate more easily \
with popular time and billing programs.
Ultimately, a day of work at one client should show up in my calendar, in my billing program and in a \
list under my contact card for that client.
To start, exporting by category and exporting of the duration field would greatly help.
