My apologies for leaving this bug unattended for so long.  I have long since moved \
away from using kopete. I have just installed the version supplied with KDE 3.4 and \
the problem still persists using both the default and Gaim styles.

I disagree with the opinion that MC names should not be used in the conversation \
window.  If I rename my contact to Jess it's because I want her to be shown as Jess, \
not some long explanation of the last 3 days of her life.

I agree that it becomes slightly different when using group chat.  Maybe an option to \
allow different behaviours in different situations is what is required.  This, AFAIK, \
is how GAIM deals with this situation.
