i'm going to do some experimentation, such as disabling kdm and logging to kde from \
the bash prompt, trying how kde-3.3.2 works (i still have it installed), and other \
things that i may come up with. tell me if you have any suggestions.

have you tried reproducing the problem at your site? probably this needs to be run in \
a debugger...
