Summary: Arts daemon crashes on KED startup when configured for
                    network sound (NAS).
           Product: arts
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Debian testing
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: crash
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: stefan space twc de
        ReportedBy: ted-f earthlink net

Version: 1.3.2-2 (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

I have ltsp installed on a home server and a set of ltsp terminals throught the \
house. I have enabled sound on the terminals using ARTS and NAS per the instructions \
on the ltsp site. Sound works fine on a user account when I enable "networked sound" \
(with NAS) using the control center from the terminal (this is important..the \
enabling has to be done from the terminal...thes are the instructions). Having done \
this, if I go to the server and I try to get into the same user account (where I \
enabled networked sound) I get a rather impressive crash dialog telling me that \
things are really bad. Clicking OK does nothing, I get the same crash message over \
and over again...I have to do a soft reboot...nothing works..not even CTL-ALT Del. I \
am however able to get a crash report from the dialog....here it is. Also..If I \
disable networked sound on the terminal, the problem goes away.
