Summary: Fails to connect to print server ftp. Sends 'syst'
receives 'UNIX Type: L8', then does nothing.
           Product: kio
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Gentoo Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: ftp
        AssignedTo: faure kde org
        ReportedBy: tdh29 cam ac uk

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc 3.3.4
OS: Linux

The server is the ftp server running on a laser printer (can't remember what type).
Here is the log from ethereal:

220 JD FTP Server Ready
user anonymous
331 Username OK, send identity (email address) as password.
pass anonymous@
230- Hewlett-Packard J3113A FTP Server Version 1.0

or 'cd' to a desired port and use: put <filename>.

And then nothing more. It works with windows ftp:// and the command line ftp client.

The status bar in konqueror never gets past 'Opening connection to 172.31.3.1...'
