The option to change the background of your email has been withheld in the interest \
of good taste.  It can only be enabled by trained graphic design professionals ;-)

Seriously though, KMail should probably allow you to do it.  But there are very few \
good reasons to change the background color of your mail.  I hope you'll reconsider.

I fear the next feature request will be repeating background images and Comic Sans \
default font, or (God forbid) embedding MIDI background music :-O
