Probably.
It yout be Mandrakes fault, your fault or KMix's fault.

I don't beleive it is a KMix bug, and that you or Mandrake changed the sound setup. \
The following message appears if you have no soundcard or no souncard driver:

kmixctrl: ERROR: snd_ctl_open err=No such file or directory 

Probably Mandrake made ALSA default or you installed a TV card or something like \
that.
