As far as I can tell, with the current behaviour there is simply no way to determine \
the full name of a file on the desktop (except by going through the filesystem to \
open the desktop as a folder...) For my own use I'd like the entire filename to \
always be shown, taking as much space as necessary, but if nothing else the name \
should certainly be in the tooltip that comes up when you hover.
