The inability to display only icons in the tree tools view, plus the splitting of \
that tab in version 3.1 into two (one on either side of the main KDevelop window) \
makes Tabbed mode completely unusable on anything less than a 1600x1280 screen, and \
even at that resolution it is very unsatisfactory because of the small amount of \
space available for editing. As a result, I have had to change to IDEAL mode which I \
don't like. (In fact, I now only use KDevelop for debugging - I prefer to build from \
the command line rather than grapple with all the vanishing tabs.)

Please either fix these problems or get rid of tabbed mode altogether. The latter \
option, while annoying, would at least remove the frustration of having it apparently \
available but actually not in practice.
