In the latest vesion of kandy (0.5), rudimentary support for special characters is  
implemented. It contains routines to translate characters from "normal ASCII" to
the 7-bit GSM charset and back (MobileGui::string2GSM and GSM2string). These
methods contain translations for german umlauts and some french accents and thus are \
not complete (norvegian characters are missing...). Can be completed according to the \
description of the GSM 7-bit charset at http://www.nobbi.com/tables.htm
