At least in KMail 1.7.1 from KDE_3_3_BRANCH a few days ago I still see only the primary email address in the left box.  (And the resize problem is indeed annoying).

The old solution with all the addresses in the list wasn't the best also.  Maybe it would work better if the tree was populated with a third depth under which the secondary addresses of a contact are listed?
