thanks for replying however you didn't actually answer the questions i asked. i asked \
what you meant by "launchers" and you just repeated "launchers" again. this doesn't \
help me help you at all. so let me ask again: 

when you say "launchers" are you referring to application buttons, to the kmenu, or \
anywhere on the panel? if you don't know, please say so and i'll spend the time \
testing this out. i'd just prefer to spend my time fixing the problem if you already \
know what it is.

you switched to GNOME because there's an "About KDE" entry when you right click on \
"launchers" in the panel? i'm not sure i find that credulous =)
