The "X-Mail-Format-Warning: Bad RFC2822 header formatting" headers are created by \
spamassassin. They appear if there's no empty line between header and body of the \
message.

Please try whether using fetchmail to fetch the mail from the POP server and then \
fetching this mail from the local mail spool with KMail fixes the problem. If this \
fixes the problem then the interaction between the POP server and KMail seems to be \
the problem.
