Summary: High CPU utilization when reading CD. X CPU spikes.
           Product: k3b
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: trueg informatik uni-freiburg de
        ReportedBy: aaronw net com

Version: 0.11.15cvs (using KDE 3.3.0, SuSE)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 (SuSE Linux)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.5-7.108-athlon

When I attempt to copy a CD, I see the CPU spike on my system. Top reports that X is \
consuming 58% of the CPU and kicker 37%. This only happens while copying a CD. It \
is as if k3b is making excessive calls to update some part of the GUI through kicker. \
Note that this seems to affect when I run kasbar in kicker. The problem is a lot \
worse if I use the clone copy option.

I am running KDE 3.3 on SuSE 9.1 with X.org X11R6.8. I am using a Sony CD-RW CRX1611 \
and writing using a Toshiba ODD-DVD SD-R527

Note that I am also running with SuSE's 2.6.5-7-108 Linux kernel.
