This ^ is probably because the cd drive that it is pointing to in the combo box isn't the drive that it \
is reading from.  If the drive that it points to (in the combo box) is invalid it scans the system for \
the cd drive.  Is that correct?  When you swap between the good and bad drives do you change the \
combobox?
