Yes you're true, I've already configured my keyboard layouts to match my multimedia keys.

But though I had to search for the keycodes of the multimedia keys with xev to be able to assign them to \
a value of /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XKeysymDB. (for example : XF86AudioMute)

After that I had to create a file named .xmodmaprc in my home directory with all the couples "keycode xxx \
= XF86???????"

After that you must launch the command "xmodmap ~/.xmodmaprc" when Kde starts (so by creating a script to \
which launch this command in /.kde/Autostart/)

I'm using Mandrake 10.0 and by default you can't use the multimedia keys.

The idea is more to create an interface to be able to map these multimedia keys to be able to use them \
with khotkeys for example...

Though an other interface to process only the actions of multimedia keys could be very user friendly! Or \
at least explain that you have to use khotkeys if you want to use them.

Well I hope that what I say is understandable :p
vive kde ;)
