I too found the option (which was in konqueror's option panel) to set the the number \
of lines after which the filename is truncated.

The problem is that there should not be such an option: there should be automatic \
truncation when the text height exceeds the icon height! So, by controlling the icon \
height, you automatically control the number of rows.
