Hi David,

To sync using the kpilot daemon only, close the main KPilot window and type in the \
console: $ kpilotDaemon 
$ dcop kpilotDaemon KPilotDaemonIface requestSyncType Restore

Now, to check the next sync type, type:
$ dcop kpilotDaemon KPilotDaemonIface statusString Restore
You should see: "NextSync=Restore from Backup"

Hit hotsync. A confirmation dialog should appear. Now, see if restore works. It works \
for me, but only if KPilot main window is not open. If it is open, it does not show \
the confirmation dialog and the restore operation stops.
